REMINDERS
The troop is participating in the Relay for Life on June 25th and 26th.
Teams have been formed for scouts vs. families.
To date, we are well short of our collection goal,
so get out there and collect donations for this worthy cause.
Please contact Mr. Carroll with questions.
For our new scouts and families,
you are welcome to join in the fun.
Our goal is to get as many families involved as possible!

Scout's Corner
SCOUT-O-RAMA by Mike P.
Scout-O-Rama was held at Cantigny in Wheaton, IL on May 15th.
It was attended by more than 14,000 people.
There were close to 20 there from our troop.
Our council celebrated Boy Scout's 100 year anniversary there with many things to do.
Scoutmaster Bob got his photo taken with President Teddy Roosevelt.
A helicopter landed with the American Flag for the opening ceremonies.
Scout-O-Rama was combined with Camperall at St. James Farm.
This was the first time anyone has camped at St. James Farm.
There were over 2,300 campers there for the weekend.
In the evening, there was an OA call-out ceremony.
Mike P., Andrew C., Philip R., and Josh Y.
were the scouts called out from our troop.
Mr. Potvin was the adult troop member called out.
A good time was had by all.

EAGLE PROJECT & FABYAN WINDMILL CLEAN-UP by Andrew C.
Saturday, May 8th was a busy day for Troop 7 projects.
First and foremost was Jordan R.'s Eagle project
at the Elburn Metra Station. Also, it was the
spring clean-up at the Fabyan Windmill in Geneva.
Four scouts and four adults joined with the millers and docents
to ready the windmill for its opening the next weekend.
We helped by sweeping up thousands of Lady Beetles, dusting,
and washing windows both inside and out.
We also helped consume the pizza furnished to those helping!
An added bonus was that we were able to visit levels 3, 4, and 5
which are normally closed to the public!

VIRGIL-GILMAN TRAIL SERVICE PROJECT by Nick W.
The boys of Troop 7 have made everybody's world a cleaner and better place.
On April 10, twenty-one boys of Troop 7 helped clean up the
Virgil Gilman Trail behind Waubonsee Community College.
This trail was very dirty before they arrived.
You couldn't look anywhere without seeing a piece of garbage.
The boys thought this was wrong, so they split up into groups
and each took a different part of the trail.
This made sure that the trail would be clean as fast as possible,
and it also kept the boys' attention on the cleaning.
After they had finished, there was almost no garbage on the trail.
There were many interesting things found on the Virgil Gilman trail.
These include a grinding disk, many types of drinks that
most of the boys had never heard of, and even animal remains.
One of the best places for interesting finds was by Route 30.
They thought it was really cool what people would just throw
out of their cars, or what would fall off of cars.
The boys of Troop 7 had a very fun time making our world
a better place by picking up trash
along a very scenic Waubonsee trail.

A little goes a long way.
