Troop 7 - First Quarter of 2008
Troop 7 has put together a full calendar of events for 2008
January
In January, Troop 7 took part in several scouting events.
There was a Ski Trip to Lake Geneva, an Arctic Adventure where the scouts made their own snowshoes,
and the Klondike Derby where patrols matched their scout skills against other Boy Scout Troops.
Pack 107 joined Troop 7 with a Webelos sled that brought home some nice awards.
February Court of Honor
The scouts of Troop 7 have been working on merit badges and rank advancements. A Court of Honor
will be held on Tuesday, February 19th.
The Court of Honor allows us to recognize all the hard work put in by the scouts.
It will be held at 6:30 pm (same spot as our normal Troop meetings).
Each scout brings a main dish to pass as well as either a side dish or a dessert.
Look for a flyer giving details of what you should bring.
February Pancake Breakfast
Troop 7 is hosting a Pancake Breakfast on February 19th (again at the church where Troop meetings are held).
Scouts are encouraged to sell tickets and to volunteer their time to help with this event.
Scouts should arrive at the church as close to 6 am as possible, with the Pancake Breakfast starting at 7 am.
White Pines Forest State Park
Troop 7's February event will be a camping trip to White Pines Forest State Park in Oregon, Illinois.
We leave on Friday February 15th, with final planning at the Troop meeting on the 12th.
March Cross Over at Needham Woods
We will be welcoming a new set of scouts to Troop 7 at the Cross Over ceremony and campout to be held in Needham Woods on March 14th - 16th.
April Biking Trip to KettleMoraine
Troop 7's April camping trip will be held at Kettle Moraine State Park (South Unit).
Those scouts in the 1st crew of the Cycling Merit Badge will be doing a 50 mile bike trip on Saturday.
The scouts in the 2nd Merit Badge crew will be doing a 10 mile ride.
There is also an opportunity to do hiking / backpacking.
