Remaining Cycling Merit Badge Events

Sunday August 24th - 25 Miler

The last 25-miler will take place on Sunday, August 24th. We will be riding along Chicago's Lake Michigan shoreline.

Meet at the Elburn Train Station at 10:00 am with the following gear list:

Bike
Bike Helmet
3 water bottles
light rain jacket
sack lunch
signed permission slip
money for a round trip train ticket [$12.20]
healthy snacks and/or spending money (for buying a snack along the ride [cool drink or ice cream?])
small backpack to hold personal gear

We will be taking the 10:25 am train into Chicago. We plan to return on the train that leaves Chicago at 4:40 pm to arrive back in Elburn at approximately 6:06 pm.

If there is any issue with being able to load ourselves and all our bikes onto the train then we will switch to the backup plan of driving to Chicago with bikes stored in Mr Wahlgren's horse trailer.

Saturday September 6th - 50 Miler

Our 50-miler will take place on Saturday, September 6th and will be an all-day event. We will be riding on the Glacial Drumlin State Trail in the Kettle Moraine area.

Saturday September 27th

Troop 7 is helping out at the event called "Ride Like an Egyptian" which takes place on Saturday, September 27th. All scouts in the Cycling Merit Badge are expected to help out for this event.
